Grid Square Life 1.0.7

The Grid Square Life app effectively presents an 8-symbol Grid Square Locator, commonly referred to as the Maidenhead Locator or QTH Locator. This value is computed using geographical coordinates derived from GPS satellites and mobile networks.

In addition to displaying your current location, the app provides relevant information about nearby points of interest, including radio beacons, lighthouses, national parks, and call signs of amateur radio clubs and individual operators in the vicinity.

The application also presents geographic coordinates and altitude data, along with a compass tool to assist with terrain orientation. Once you set your home location within the Settings tab, the app will calculate and display the distance to this location. This home setting can be adjusted at any time.

Graphical representations illustrate the relative position of your current square compared to neighboring squares, including the distance to their borders. Squares and sub-squares are clearly delineated, with sub-squares located on the border of a larger square highlighted in yellow. For a more exhaustive overview of neighboring squares and your position within your square, users can utilize:

• The Map tab (requires an internet connection)
• The Grid View tab

The app's database is established during installation and includes information on:

• Beacons
• Lighthouses
• National parks and reserves
• Call signs

This information is organized into three sections for easy access:

• In this square
• Nearby
• In Grid Square

User-friendly scrolling allows for convenient navigation through this information. It is important to note that the "Time" field in the application indicates the time of the last location update rather than the current time.

To ensure accurate location tracking, it is essential to grant the app permission for Location Services. Internet or mobile network connectivity is only required when accessing map data.
